Dr. Dries Braeken obtained the MSc degree of Biomedical Sciences in 2003 and the PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Leuven in collaboration with imec in 2009.
Since then, he is R&D manager in the Life Science department, working at the cutting edge of interfacing hardware (sensors and actuators, microfluidics) and wetware (cells and tissues) using nanotechnology to create novel tools for personalized medicine. He is currently driving the Brain on Chip program at imec.
