Milano welcomes you
Lombardy is the richest region in Italy with a GDP per capita about 32% higher than the national average and 27% of the EU’s. Lombardy is also home to leading scientific centers in areas such as genomics, biomedicine, digital therapies and healthcare management (e.g. oncology, cardiovascular diseases and rehabilitation therapies). Lombardy’s population exceeds 10 million inhabitants.
With a population of about 1.3 million people, Milano is the capital of Lombardy, in the middle of the Po Valley, not far from the Alps and from the Italian largest lakes (Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Lake Garda). Milano is considered the Italian economic and financial center, as the most important industrial and financial businesses of the Country are settled here, along with the headquarters of the Stock Exchange. Milano also represents the Italian capital of fashion and design (hosting “Milan Fashion Week” and the “Salone Internazionale del Mobile”), is an internationally recognized cultural hub (with “Teatro alla Scala” considered the international “temple” of Opera music).
The Milano Metropolitan Region is home to over 250 pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies (58% of Lombardy Life Sciences companies). Lombardy is home to around 30% of Italy’s total. Life Sciences trade bodies and regulators, including the European Food Safety Authority (Parma) and EU Joint Research Center (Ispra), are based nearby Milano.

Social Event
Social event hosted at National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci!
The social dinner will take place in the cloisters of the National Museum of Science and Technology. Inaugurated in Milan on February 15, 1953, and established as a private foundation in 1999, the Museum is now one of the leading technical-scientific museums in Europe. Covering an area of 40,000 square meters, the Monumental Building, the Railway Pavilion, and the Aeronaval Pavilion offer unique settings, exclusive spaces, and rooms dedicated to hosting any event.
The Museum, whose identity adds cultural, historical, and scientific value to every occasion, is one of the most prestigious venues in the center of Milan for organizing conferences and congresses, trade shows, presentations, and social gatherings. The two cloisters, recently renovated, retain the ancient beauty of the sixteenth-century monastery. Overlooking two large gardens and dominated by the bell tower of the Church of San Vittore, they are a quiet and perfect location to organize social moments in a secret corner of Renaissance Milan.
The Museum hosts the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to Leonardo (Leonardo da Vinci Galleries), the famous engineer and humanist. A spectacular set design takes you on a journey that, starting from the city of Florence in the fifteenth-century, retraces Leonardo’s formation and his contribution as engineer to his time in Milan under the Sforza family. A path through the art of war, labor and production, flight, waterways, and architecture conclude with a look at Leonardo’s influence on Lombard Renaissance painting and an immersive installation dedicated to his drawings from the last years.
Galleria Leonardo will be exclusively accessible during the dinner to EUROoCS2024 delegates, which will benefit of six tour guides ready to immerse you in Leonardo’s story.
The Museum is located in Via San Vittore 21 and can be easily reached from the Venue of the Conference by the following public transportation:
